Bowen, located in the northern region of the Whitsunday's, is a short 40 minutes drive north of Airlie Beach. Amazingly, the town is almost completely surrounded by the mesmerising Whitsunday waterways.
In fact, one of Bowen's major assets is the many golden beaches that surround the region. Horseshoe Bay and Grays Bay to name a couple have received numerous North Queensland awards over the years. Your stresses will all but disappear as you explore these magnificent palm fringed beaches, and immerse yourself in all the activities that abound this region, including snorkelling, fishing and sailing.

The temperature in Bowen remains fairly constant year-round and it is possible to swim during the winter months. The hottest months are between November and March. The coldest is June.

For the angler you can fish for Spanish and Spotted Mackerel and Tuna that usually school a few kilometers' off the mouth of the Don River during winter and trolling around the schools is often productive. Fishing the reefs closer to Bowen foreshore may produce a variety of reef fish.
Diving and snorkeling at Horseshoe Bay, Grays Bay, Murray Bay and Rose Bay and Middle Island.

FRONT BEACH

Front Beach is a popular spot for holiday-makers. When the wind is right, windsurfers converge on the beach to take advantage of the smooth water and great sailing.

The white sandy beach and azure waters are surrounded by large granite outcrops which provide a haven for many fish species and snorkelling in this area.

COLLINSVILLE

This historic mining town of Collinsville offers a relaxed lifestyle with much to keep visitors happy. Fill your day with a walk around the town centre looking at the murals, mining museum and having lunch at a heritage listed hotel.

THE BIG MANGO

The Big Mango represents the delicious fruit which carries the name sake of the town "Bowen Mango".

BOWEN HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Bowen Historical Museum is a museum which traces the history of the area through its different displays including the geology of the district and the history of the early Aboriginal inhabitants through to the early settlers.

Bowen is located on the Whitsunday Coast 40 minutes drive north of Airlie Beach and is the main township positioned on the coast approximately 160km north of Mackay and 200km south of Townsville.

The town is almost completely surrounded by the magnificent azure of the Whitsunday waterways.Eight magnificent sandy beaches are a major attraction with snorkelling, fishing and sailing accessible off the many palm fringed beaches - the waterways are waiting to be discovered.

The park is popular with travellers not only because of the ideal location but also because of the excellent amenities that exist. The roads in the entire park are concreted, new turf has been laid throughout and the landscaping has been upgraded.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled 0 - 7 days before arrival, 100% of the total amount will be forfeited / If cancelled 8 or more days before arrival, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited. In addition to any charges by the accommodation provider there will also be an additional administration charge of AUD15 if cancelled or amended online and AUD25 if cancelled or amended by phone.
